The steering committee of Pharmintech powered by Ipack Ima met on 8th june during the 62nd AFI Symposium, one of the most important networking and training events for the Italian pharmaceutical industry currently being held in Rimini, Italy. During the meeting, the steering committee outlined the strategies and development plans for the exhibition scheduled for 27-30 May 2025 with the aim of promoting Pharmintech as a networking and business opportunity for the entire life science industry and an increasingly specialised and international event in terms of both exhibition offerings and visitor attendance.
Alongside the organisers of the event, the Pharmintech steering committee also includes leading companies from the exhibition’s target sectors, namely manufacturers of processing and packaging technologies and solutions for the pharmaceutical, para-pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical industries, as well as the leading industry associations.
The committee discussed where promotional efforts for the event should be focused in terms of actions, countries, industry events and strategic partnerships to enable it to fully meet the needs of the supply chain, and analysed the international scenario using distribution data from companies operating in the life science industry.
According to Euromonitor data, Italy is the leading player in the target market with a large concentration of pharmaceutical, personal care and chemicals industry companies located in clusters across central and northern Italy, with Lombardy standing out in particular in all three sectors. The global market is expected to grow by around 4% over the period 2022-2026, while Belgium is the leading country in the European pharmaceutical market and the UK is a key market for all segments mentioned. The value of packaging machinery for the pharmaceutical, chemicals and personal care markets is expected to grow by around 3.4% in the period 2021-2024.
The strong connection between Pharmintech powered by Ipack Ima and the pharmaceutical market as a whole is underscored by the event’s renewed backing by the Pharmaceutical Industry Association (AFI), which has once again been appointed as the technical and scientific coordinator of the event conferences. “We see Pharmintech as an important opportunity to create strategic new partnerships that will allow the world-leading Italian producers to further strengthen their network of relationships, to build synergies and to consolidate their leadership position by participating in a highly international event with outstanding technical, technological, and scientific content,” commented AFI Chairman Giorgio Bruno.
His words were echoed by Simone Castelli, CEO of the promoter of the event Ipack Ima, who emphasised the importance of cooperation between trade fair organisations: “Renewed collaboration between Ipack Ima and the event owner BolognaFiere undoubtedly strengthens the competitiveness of the brand and improves Pharmintech’s ability to act as a go-to event for technology suppliers and professionals in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. This makes it an increasingly important innovation hub for a sector in which Italy and Europe play a key global role. In 2025, Pharmintech powered by IPACK-IMA will be even more innovative, generating synergies between exhibitors and visitors from related industrial sectors in an internationally important trade show, further enhanced by the synergies and added value deriving from the joint scheduling with IPACK-IMA, which will be held on the same dates.”
“The experiment of organising Pharmintech together with IPACK-IMA in 2022 proved an overwhelming success and generated powerful synergies in terms of attendance, which persuaded us to hold these two events concurrently again in 2025. Ipack Ima Srl managed our event very professionally, so we are confident that the continued collaboration will meet with the full satisfaction of our exhibiting companies,” added Antonio Bruzzone, Director General of BolognaFiere.
Technological innovation, digitalisation and sustainability will once again take centre stage at IPACK-IMA and PHARMINTECH, scheduled to take place in the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition centre from 27 to 30 May 2025, a unique venue devoted to the manufacturing industry and focusing on specialisation and technology transfer.
