The members of the Pharmintech steering committee met at the event currently taking place in Rimini for a discussion in preparation of the 2025 edition

The 63rd AFI Symposium, a key conference that for over 60 years has brought together the stakeholders of the pharmaceutical industry at an international level, was held to define the guidelines on which to further shape the new edition of Pharmintech powered by Ipack Ima, scheduled from 27 to 30 May 2025 at Fiera Milano - Rho, in conjunction with IPACK-IMA.    

Constant dialogue with the market

During the steering committee, Pharmintech's strategic approaches were discussed in an effort to outline an increasingly international and highly specialised strategy in terms of exhibition offer and visitor and buyer attendance. The strategic steering committee includes, alongside the organisers, some of the leading manufacturers of processing and packaging technologies and solutions for the pharmaceutical, para-pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical industry, as well as the main industry representatives.

Afi, Pharmintech and BolognaFiere Group join forces for a synergy-based project

Testifying to the synergy between Pharmintech and the pharmaceutical market is the sponsorship of the Italian Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry, which has taken on the technical and scientific coordination of the exhibition conferences. “The collaboration with Pharmintech is now more than ten years old,” affirms Giorgio Bruno, President of AFI, “with constant dialogue and collaboration between AFI, the Symposium and the exhibition organisation. Among the strategic focuses over the next few years are European legislation on the pharmaceutical world, digitisation and serialisation, current hot topics that we will be proposing for discussion at the exhibition.’

“Pharmaceutical packaging and processing boast important figures worldwide that are estimated to reach 17.6 billion euro turnover by 2027,” says Simone Castelli, CEO of Ipack Ima. “A performance that is reflected in the strong upward trend of the in-coming exhibitors: a year away from the start of the event, we now have more than 60% of the exhibition area already occupied and 35% of new brands present at the fair. And the there is more to come, with a rich calendar of scientific meetings guaranteed by qualified partners such as AFI ensuring that the run-up to the 2025 edition of Pharmintech will be even more successful.”

The success story in numbers and visitors at the 2022 Edition

The figures speak for themselves, with almost 9,000 visitors from 47 countries, and 287 exhibitors, 31% of whom came from abroad. The 2022 edition proved to be a successful project with the participation of leading companies such as: Abc Farmaceutici, Abel Nutraceuticals, Angelini Pharma, Chiesi Farmaceutuci, Dompé Farmaceutici, Doppel Farmaceutici, Dow, Eli Lilly, Ibsa International, Glaxosmithkline, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Pfizer, Polpharma, Roche, Teva Actavis, Zeta Farmaceutici, Wella.

Technological innovation, digitalisation and sustainability will unite at IPACK-IMA and Pharmintech, scheduled to take place at the Fiera Milano Exhibition Centre from 27th to 30th May 2025, in a unique setting capable of providing space for production excellence at the service of the manufacturing industry.
